Amid the rugged terrain in the Allegheny region of the Appalachian Mountains lies the family owned and operated FRZ Angus at Frazee Farms. Michael Frazee and father, Dean Frazee specialize in the production of high-quality commercial and registered Black Angus cattle, small grains, corn and assorted hay crops. The farm which spans nearly 1,000 acres is primarily self-sustaining and provides plenty of varying terrain lending to the development of hearty and healthy cattle. Of specific interest are the purebred Black Angus bulls developed by blending proven genetics to produce offspring that meet cattlemen's needs.
About Frazee Farms
FRZ Angus at Frazee Farms is a family owned and operated establishment nestled atop the mountains in the southwest corner of Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Our family farm is rich in pride and tradition. In 1887, Urias Ringer and Sarah Catherine Diehl were wed and settled a farm near St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Hill, PA. It was the beginning of five generations of farmers... Urias Ringer, William Frazee, Earl Frazee, Dean Frazee and Michael Frazee have and are currently laying our mark on the land and the areas cattle industry.
With over 130 years of farming heritage at our backs, my father and I strive to produce high-quality seedstock and commercial cattle. Since its inception in 2016, FRZ Angus is the entity of Frazee Farms that is focused on high-quality registered Black Angus cattle. Our goal is to produce docile, structurally sound, higher growth cattle while maintaining the all important factors of fertility and maternal characteristics. Our cattle must possess fleshing ability, thickness, muscle mass and have “the look”. We use AI and natural breeding techniques to obtain these qualities. We are somewhat progressive in nature but are not chasing numbers or riding the waves of current trends. We utilize current EPD’s and genetic testing to compliment our traditional breeding methods. Ultimately, we breed to produce practical, functional, proven cattle that will perform and make us proud to call our own.
Our family strives to take an honest, hard working and common sense approach to our work and relationships. After all, our success and reputation is strictly dependent on the satisfaction of our customer.
